Aug 25, 2022Mistake #1: Passively experiencing "good" days
Why is it that when "good" days happen, we treat them as if they have magically occurred, without any action on our part? 🦄
Promise me right now you will stop this...
...instead, reflect on those days.
If you can start piecing together what is happening on those "good" days, you will have very powerful information in your hands.
Are you:
- Sleeping well?
- Eating well?
- Engaging in self-care?
- Connecting with others?
- Exercising?
If you can figure out the healthy habits that work for YOU, then you can repeat them and MAKE GOOD DAYS HAPPEN! (Disclaimer: you will still have stressful days. They are part of life. But the goal is to stress LESS!)
Mistake #2: No Stress Less Strategy
Coping with stress without a strategy is like playing darts with a blindfold on. Sometimes you get lucky and hit the 🎯 (If you're like me, blindfolded or not, I am not getting anywhere near the bullseye 🙈).
Start with this STRESS LESS strategy framework, and adjust as needed:
- Name your emotion
- Rate the intensity (0-10 is a good scale)
- Do something to reduce the intensity.
- Re-evaluate (repeat steps 1&2)
- If needed, repeat steps 3 & 4
